Day one and day 8. Day 8 for Dad and me, and day one for Teun. We only have to sail for two hours today, yet we still have to get up early—no less than 7:30 AM. At 9 o’clock, I’m standing in front of the supermarket, which opens then, and by half past nine we can leave. The departure goes smoothly! With the residual current helping us, we sail to Emden, where we arrive early. We moor at the EYC in the outer harbour. We walk for half an hour to get into the town and, of course, get some fish there. It is a pleasant City Centre. We actually wanted to take the train back, but it doesn’t leave until 4 o’clock. Teun is willing to wait for it, while Dad and I start walking back. We have a quiet evening; the weather is fine.
