Today we went to pick up Teun. It was 10 o’clock when I woke up. So, a nice lie-in.

Teun took the 2:15 pm train from Deventer to Delfzijl, which took him 3 hours. For us, it took 5 hours to get from Borkum to Delfzijl. We had current against, and the alternative was either leaving very early in the morning or arriving in Delfzijl very late. Despite the current (2 knots against us), we arrived in Delfzijl at 4:45 pm. We used both engine and sail (with a sign I didn’t see before). The wind increased during the day, but was from behind all the time. Only the last half hour in the canal to Delfzijl it took endless, because of headwind. I walked quickly to the station and left Dad alone with the boat to meet Teun, he just arrived.

In the evening, we had a nice dinner at a restaurant in the harbour; all three of us had fish. After that, we watched football.

That was it for today, time for a good night’s sleep.
