Yesterday we made all the preparations for a good trip to Borkum.

Today we started the day well; the Wadden Sea was nice and calm, as hoped. Now let’s go for the North Sea.

This was a bit rougher than hoped. We were in a very long surf and the boat was plunging through the waves. I found it too scary and not relaxing. We had also eaten poorly and seasickness played a role. We decided to go back to Lauwersoog. I fell asleep on the way and the nausea passed quickly, and I calmed down again. Lots of sun, few waves, and a lovely tailwind.

Once back, I went to the supermarket, 8.3 kilometers away, for bread and a few other products. I walked that in no time, but the bag was very heavy on the way back, especially in that heat. Dad walked part of the way to meet me and we walked part of the way back together.

Tomorrow we are going to try sailing to Borkum again.
